Set up the week in ten minutes on Sunday
- Print a fresh chart, or wipe last week's laminated copy.
- Look at the coming week: a late practice on Wednesday means a lighter job that day.
- Write or type the jobs, and the reward where the chart has a reward line.
- Hang it where the jobs happen and agree one daily check-in time.
- Next Sunday, count the checks together before you print the new one.
Weekly charts for several kids
For two to four children, pick by how your family splits work:
- Each child has their own jobs: the 3-kid chart gives each child a color-coded panel on one page.
- Shared household jobs: the who-does-what chart lists family jobs down the side; write the initials of whoever is on it each day.
- Nobody wants the same job forever: the chore wheel rotates jobs once a week, so dishes and trash move around fairly. Cut it out and join the wheels with a brad (paper fastener).
Keep one rule for everyone, even if the jobs differ: the same number of checks earns the same reward.
Daily checks or a weekly total?
Under about 8, check off every day; a week is a long time and daily marks keep the goal close. From 8 to 12, a weekly points total works, with the reward on the weekend. Teens do better with deadlines than with daily boxes: "laundry done by Thursday" on the teen planner.
Blank and fillable weekly charts
The blank weekly chart and the family schedule are fillable PDFs. Type your jobs once, save the file as your master copy and print it every week. Need a different age or theme? Browse all printable chore charts.
Questions
Do the weekly charts start on Monday or Sunday?
Monday. The seven-day charts print Mon–Sun. If your week starts on Sunday, fill in the Sun column first; the "Week of" line keeps the dates straight.
What if we miss a day?
Leave it blank and carry on. A chart with gaps is still a record of what went well; don't make up missed days with extra jobs.
How do I make a weekly chart last?
Print on cardstock or put it in a sheet protector and use a dry-erase marker, then wipe it every Sunday.
